Zong 4G Confirms Intent to Pakistan’ Digital Sector On World Telecommunication and Information Society Day

Zong 4G is one of the country’s leading telecommunication company, and have announced their commitment to the Pakistan telecom sector through key investments made throughout their inception till now at the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.

Zong 4G have reaffirmed their commitment to Pakistan’s digital revolution by investing over USD 3 Billion over the past 12 years and creating over 300,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. One of their key steps has included becoming the first and only operator to launch 4G services in Pakistan in 2014. This was added by also becoming the first operator to successfully test 5G video call in South Asia. The company is also known to have the widest 4G network of the country and is also working hard to ensure individual and business customers needs are met during COVID-19.

Zong 4G announced a plan to maintain network services during this time to help government authorities, facilitate customers and ensure digital growth during this time. Their focus is towards health and education by working alongside the Federal and Provincial Governments. They have also offered free GSM and data services with recharge to NDMA along with managed Wi-Fi for internet services. Zong 4G partnered with provincial Governments and district management authorities to create awareness around COVID19 by collaborating with PRCS, NDMA, NIH, UNICEF and Indus Hospital etc.

On World Telecom Day, Wang Hua, CEO Zong said that: “The purpose of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) is to help create awareness about how the use of the Internet and ICT is and will be an important catalyst in bringing about change in societies and economies…In light of the COVID19 outbreak, our CSR strategy for COVID19 has been developed with an eye on long-term and far reaching impacts. We are fully determined in this fight against coronavirus through multi-stakeholder partnerships that support access to critical needs during these challenging times.” By being a part of one of the World’s largest Telecom, China Mobile (CMCC), Zong 4G can help ensure the digital future of Pakistan.
