Growing up everyone loved to play with LEGOs, for it gave one the opportunity to build and be creative. The love of Lego never really goes away and keeping that in the mind The Lego Company has taken a step ahead and made a real car out of LEGOs!
The car is full size Bugatti Chiron and actually drives. Made from over 1,000,000 Lego Technic elements and is powered by 2304 LEGOs Power functions motors. The car took about 13000 hours to build and test it out and weighs about 15000 Kg. The car is built using LEGOs technic without any glue!
Regarding the speed of the car, My Modern Met states that a former race driver took the Lego made car for a spin and even though the car can’t match the speed of the real Chiron that can reach 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, however, the driver was able to get the car to go 12.4 mph i.e. the speed of a bike ride which is not bad for LEGOs.
The car can accommodate two people and is complete with a speedometer and brake pedal. It is powered by two batteries, and there is no need for knowledge of a manual transmission. However the car only has one speed so one can’t really control that however one can control the lights!
The twitterati certainly had a field day when the car was announced on the social media platform by the LEGO Group, where they tweeted: ‘finally a Lego that doesn’t hurt when you step on it, but hurts when it steps on you.’
One can now get their own Bugatti Chiron LEGO car 1:8 scale version containing 3,599 pieces at the LEGO online shop.
