The National Incubation Center (NIC) recently organized an entrepreneurship bootcamp for people with disabilities called ‘Unheard Voices’. To show their support to the cause, the ride hailing giant Uber collaborated with NIC.

Under the partnership, the participants of the bootcamp were able to avail discounts by using special promo codes on their Uber rides to NIC. The partnership with NIC shows Uber’s resolve to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset within their operating communities and the physically challenged youth.

Statistics show that there are more than 27 million physically challenged people in Pakistan. Therefore, programs such as ‘Unheard Voices’ allow the physically disabled to bring visible changes in their lives by being in control of their destiny and not rely at the hands of others through charity.

For years, Uber has been playing an integral role in promoting innovation across its operating countries. The ride hailing app had also organized an UberPITCH, a competition that sets entrepreneurs on the road to opportunity by providing them with training, mentorship and resources.

CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come.
