The Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to launch a service called the Insaf Emergency Cab Service in the province in order to pick up patients in an emergency from their doorsteps.
According to an official statement, the idea came about during a meeting that was recently chaired by Health Minister Dr. Hisham Inamullah Khan. The plan includes starting an Insaf Emergency Cab Service at the district and tehsil headquarter hospitals, basic health units, and rural health centers.
These cars will be used to transport emergency patients from their homes to the hospitals, as there are no dedicated ambulances for the purpose. The Insaf Emergency Cab Service is to help the poor patients in far-flung areas of the province, especially those in the merged districts to reach hospitals in time.
The Health Minister also emphasized on taking strict action against those who remain negligent in performing their duties. Furthermore, he also vowed to follow the reward and punishment system to put everything in the right direction.
