258 Global Speakers joined virtual
Pak Tech Summit on ‘Rebuilding Pakistan’

The Global Pakistan Tech Summit was inaugurated by Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz on 1st June 2020. The month-long summit featured 258 speakers with a 50% ratio of female speakers, from 30 cities across 12 countries to discuss Rebuilding Pakistan. This first-of-its-kind virtual conference was organized by Ejad Labs. 124 sessions were held in conjunction with 50+ partner organizations from around the technology ecosystem.

The speakers included notable government leaders, entrepreneurs, and international tech moguls like the CIO of Estonia, CTO of Seattle, VP Salesforce, Co-Founder Zameen.com, the Ambassadors of US and Canada along with technology experts from global companies like Facebook, Google, Microsoft, IBM, and others.

Pakistan’s Tech Talent Pool

Shibli Faraz said that the government fully supports the growth of Pakistan’s IT industry, recognizing that Pakistan’s tech talent has a huge potential in the global market. Chargé D’affaires John Hoover (US Embassy) said that there is great entrepreneurial talent. With all stakeholders continuing to work together, an enabling environment can be created.

Canadian High Commissioner Wendy Gilmour mentioned that Canadian companies employ IT experts, and expressed her appreciation for the high quality of tech talent locally.

Arzish Azam, CEO Ejad Labs, and the force behind this first-of-its-kind virtual show, said:

This is a 10-year movement to ‘Rebuild Pakistan’ by bringing together the best of Pakistani startups, techies and digital leaders from around the globe. We have hosted the #PakTechSummit in Europe, Silicon Valley & now virtually; and we look forward to hosting many more throughout the world.

The Global Pakistan Tech Summit is organized by Ejad Labs, a digital accelerator leading the movement to promote Pakistani technology by organizing the country’s largest tech exchange programs to Silicon Valley, North America & Europe and curating the flagship Pakistan Tech Summit and Startup Grind Pakistan Conference along with other activities. They have an alumni network of 150+ entrepreneurs, digital leaders and change-makers.
