Vertiv is chosen by Cybernet to provide power to a cable landing station site.

Cybernet, one of Pakistan’s major fibre broadband providers, has chosen Vertiv solutions to support the open-access cable landing site that will be erected in Karachi by Cyber Internet Services (Cybernet).

Vertiv is a global provider of digital infrastructure and continuity solutions with headquarters in Ohio, USA. Vertiv will provide a full range of IT infrastructure solutions, including power protection, thermal management, aisle confinement, data centre infrastructure management (DCIM), and monitoring, as well as open-access cable landing systems, to help Pakistan improve its internet infrastructure.

With its fibre broadband brand, StormFiber, Cybernet is known for bringing innovative and high-quality connectivity solutions to the industry. It has over 1500 corporate customers and tens of thousands of fibre broadband customers across the country.

The company has built its own GPON-based fiber-optic infrastructure and has Points of Presence (POPs) in Pakistan’s major cities, with ambitions to expand the network infrastructure.

In Karachi, Pakistan, Cybernet is constructing Pakistan’s first open access cable landing station (CLS). Multiple underwater cables, global and local content, and service providers will be housed in the open-access facility, making the process of creating cross-connects to partners simple, rapid, and efficient.

Because the connections will be delivered within the data center’s security, they will be more resilient. Any independent submarine cable project will have a better chance of landing and connecting at this neutral site thanks to the CLS.

To meet bandwidth capacity requirements and develop redundancy, Pakistan needs to land new underwater cables. The cutting-edge CLS will provide a supportive atmosphere for Pakistan’s digital landscape and internet business.

Cybernet has chosen Vertiv, one of the world’s leading infrastructure support solutions businesses, to manage and service its mission-critical CLS data centre power infrastructure technology.


In the near future, Cybernet anticipates a massive expansion in the network capacity of many submarine cables for Pakistan, and Vertiv’s digital technology modular infrastructure solution will allow upcoming submarine cable consortium partners to connect at the CLS location.
