PR: TPL Maps, Pakistan’s first indigenously designed mapping service has signed an agreement with Travly, a Lahore based startup providing transportation and logistics service, whereby TPL Maps will become the official navigator for Travly’s drivers.

This partnership is a first step towards building the maps ecosystem in Pakistan, and highlights the fact that local startups are now willing to embrace homegrown technology.

Head of TPL Maps Adeel Hashmi said:

“We are aggressively working with local incubators and startups to provide customized digital mapping solutions and this partnership is one of the many such alliances which will contribute to a more digital Pakistan. Local startups embracing home grown technology is a positive sign for the country and we are pleased to be part of this change”

Shahmir Khan, Co-Founder & CEO Travly said:

“We’re excited to collaborate with TPL Maps to enable real-time intelligent routing and turn-by-turn navigation option in our system for an effective dispatching. Furthermore, we will contribute to this locally developed digital mapping solution by providing POIs gathered by Travly over the course of time”

This is TPL Maps first alignment with a transport hailing service. The company sees it as a great opportunity to tap in to an emerging market, which not only allows it to reach out to new users, but also creates a healthy business environment, where local startups and local businesses can combine their expertise for mutual growth.

By partnering with Pakistan’s independent map provider and leveraging on its best-in-class location data, Travly is all set to conquer new grounds and be the pioneer in one-stop ground transportation and logistics solutions in the country.
