Digital technology important for education promotion: AJK President
The use of emerging technologies has become unavoidable in the education sector to bring about a revolution, says Masood Khan.
MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has stated that the restructuring of the education system in the state in line with modern technology is crucial to the materialization of the dream of growth and prosperity of the liberated territory.
As reported by Express Tribute, while addressing a function held on Saturday the state president said, “It is important to make education accessible to the job market-oriented young generation and the curriculum consistent with the world’s changing trends,” An extensive education program under the auspices of “Coded Minds, was also revealed as described as” an international educational technology business.”
The president further emphasized the need to take advantage of these emerging innovations to support education and other positive objectives. He maintained that it is really charming and simple to incorporate the idea of public-private partnership. He also went on to say, “A variety of education-related studies have shown that 88 percent of Azad Kashmir is well ahead of Pakistan’s remaining areas in terms of its enrollment, registration, gender equality, and learning, however, our educational infrastructure is poor and fragile”.
He described the use of digital technology to have become inevitable in the education sector to bring about a transition, while innovations such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, robotics, block-chain, and cloud computing are now in the hands of young people.
Speaking on the occasion, Khaishgi, Founding President of Coded Minds and Chief Operating Officer of the South Asia Chapter Organization, explained that in efforts of turning Azad Kashmir into a valley of learning and information, her company decided to launch a program to provide education with the help of modern technology in accordance with the requirements of the 21st century.
She reportedly said, “We will implement a system in which students would not be dependent on books and classroom lectures and would quickly learn through project-based activities,” She further added that the target they will achieve in the next few years will include 100 percent literacy and the re-enrollment of 24,000 schoolchildren in Azad Kashmir.
In order to appreciate the efforts of Coded Minds founder president Omar Farooqui, the president of the AJK stated that the introduction of education technology by the son of Kashmir and Amina Khaishgi in 14 countries is a matter of great pride to us. We extend our direct cooperation to them as they now want to work for the promotion of education in Azad Kashmir.
On this occasion, Prof Dr. Kalim Abbasi, Vice-Chancellor of AJK University, stated that without education, socio-economic development is not possible. More than 6,000 educational institutions are currently operating in Azad Kashmir, in addition to a university or a sub-campus of a university in all districts. He said, however, that providing 40,000 teachers with training is a major challenge for us that can be met with the cooperation and assistance of organizations such as Coded Minds.
