Tech Valley Pakistan, a Google premier partner, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Punjab to launch the largest single-province technology upskilling initiative in Pakistan’s history. The agreement, formalised in celebration of the 2026 Year of Youth, will see 100,000 Google Career Certificates deployed across 64 public and private universities and colleges throughout Punjab in partnership with the Higher Education Department and Punjab Higher Education Commission. The scale of the programme represents a 20-fold expansion from the scholarship initiative Tech Valley ran in the province the previous year, reflecting a substantial leap in ambition and institutional commitment from all parties involved.

The 2026 edition of the programme introduces a significantly expanded curriculum, giving students access to 14 specialisations and 82 comprehensive courses covering a wide range of in-demand digital and professional skills. Two notable additions to the offering this year are the Google Artificial Intelligence Professional Certificate, designed to take students from foundational understanding of artificial intelligence through to practical fluency, and a People Management Essentials certificate focused on leadership strategy. The inclusion of the artificial intelligence certification is particularly significant, as it aligns directly with Punjab’s stated ambition of establishing itself as the premier artificial intelligence hub of Pakistan. Advanced tools including Google’s Gemini and NotebookLM are embedded within the curriculum to equip students and researchers with hands-on experience of the AI platforms currently reshaping global industries.

The initiative was developed in partnership with Minister of Education Punjab Rana Sikandar Hayat alongside the teams at the Higher Education Department and Punjab Higher Education Commission, and is structured to ensure equal access to globally recognised certifications across every district in the province rather than concentrating opportunity in major urban centres. For Tech Valley, the partnership represents a significant expansion of its role as a bridge between traditional academic pathways and modern employability, with the certificate programme creating a continuous pipeline from university to the digital economy. Institutions across Punjab that are part of the scholarship drive are encouraged to engage through Tech Valley’s official channels to activate enrolments for their students across the programme’s full range of specialisations.
