The final provincial stage of the STEAM Festival, “Science in Sindh,” concluded with great enthusiasm, marking a significant step toward promoting science education in the province. The event, held at the Karachi Expo Center, was a collaborative effort between the Sindh School Education Department, Sindh College Education Department, and Thar Education Alliance, bringing together students, educators, and policymakers to celebrate innovation and scientific inquiry.

Sindh’s Minister for Education, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, who inaugurated the festival, praised the ingenuity and problem-solving skills of Sindh’s students. He emphasized that the children of Sindh have an innate ability to understand and address complex issues through scientific reasoning. He noted that their projects and creative models reflected a strong commitment to using science for the welfare and progress of their homeland.

The festival was part of the provincial government’s broader initiative to declare this year as “Science in Sindh,” highlighting the importance of education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). This move aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a rapidly evolving technological world. The education minister underscored the significance of blending science with art, describing it as a fusion of heart and mind. He explained that while science builds machines, art connects emotions, making scientific advancements more meaningful and impactful.

Throughout the festival, students showcased innovative projects and experiments, demonstrating their grasp of scientific concepts and their practical applications. The event featured interactive exhibits, science competitions, and engaging workshops designed to encourage curiosity and hands-on learning. Teachers and educationists also participated, exchanging ideas on effective STEAM education and discussing ways to integrate creative problem-solving into the curriculum.

The festival highlighted the Sindh government’s commitment to fostering a scientific mindset among students. With continued investment in STEAM education, initiatives like “Science in Sindh” are expected to pave the way for a new generation of innovators and critical thinkers who can drive technological and social progress in the province.
