Foot traffic is important to many types of businesses, particularly retail establishments, as higher foot traffic can lead to higher sales. Strategies businesses can use to increase their foot traffic include holding grand openings and other promotional events such as demonstrations, giveaways, sales and charitable fundraisers……boring!

Need an easier way to get the sales sky high?
Here are five quick solutions for you.

Social media does not only keep you updated with all the happenings taking place around the globe, it also serves to be a great platform for businesses and entrepreneurs.

How?

Tweet Tweet!

With Twitter’s new Vine video application, businesses can now with this opportunity introduce key personnel or its peculiar, laid-back culture by sharing a brief six second video clip with followers. If you’re not comfortable with the idea of creating and uploading a video, a blog is another way for a business to personalize its brand to better connect with customers.

“Like” and Share

In order to sustain brand loyalty one can not solely reply on word-of-mouth referrals. Now more than                                      ever, people are choosing to follow brands on social media sites, and businesses have the opportunity to turn these online visitors into lifelong customers by using social media to deliver five star customer services and share valuable content that will keep followers coming back for more. Moreover, with an unimaginable number of Facebook users, people are more likely to trust a brand that their friends “like” online. Make a page, offer exciting deals, share your page and make it go viral. Brands that are actively making an effort to expand their online fan base will be more likely to have the advantage of attracting more people and earning new fans that were referred from existing customers.

Get a teen on the team

Hiring a teenager and getting him to manage and keep the mass aware constantly at all times would be beneficial, as he would be of additional help by generating ideas and providing an insight on how to attract the young individuals.

Offer special deals

Everyone loves sales. That might mean you mark down items on your site, or simply offer social subscribers an “exclusive” coupon code to save when they buy from you. Your post could be placed out something like this;
“Save up to 30% on these five items”
“Share and win exciting prizes”
These are some basic examples, think out of the box to keep the consumers interested.

Hold a Contest

This may not mean instant sales, though holding a social media contest will give exposure to your brand to the new people. Essentially you can’t require someone to like your page as a means to enter the contest. Contests are great because when people enter them on social firms like Facebook or Twitter they share them. This way more people get to see them and they enter too.

It’s important to cultivate your social media promotion strategy and tie it in to your bigger marketing campaign at large. You should both monitor what people are saying about your brand online and respond appropriately, and discreetly mention in your dose of promotional posts here and there. Remember that you’re working to build trust with consumers, and that will consume time. Stay patient!

Conclusion being, small businesses can not afford to not partake in a social media marketing strategy. It offers one of the most affordable ways to reach it customers on a wider scale, while helping to give your brand a voice to connect and connect with your online fans. Also, the more active you are on your various social media channels, the more likely your business will be found online.
