Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori announced an ambitious plan on Wednesday to offer free modern IT courses to 500,000 young individuals across Sindh in 2025. The initiative, unveiled during New Year celebrations at the Governor’s House in Karachi, is part of the broader Governor’s Program aimed at expanding opportunities and fostering socio-economic development in the province.

Governor Tessori emphasized the importance of equipping the youth with digital skills to enhance their employability and competitiveness in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. He described the initiative as a transformative step towards bridging the digital divide and empowering the next generation.

Reflecting on the achievements of the past year, Tessori highlighted significant milestones, including the distribution of 900,000 ration bags to needy families and the enrollment of 50,000 young individuals in IT courses. He reiterated his commitment to addressing pressing issues such as unemployment, lack of access to clean water, affordable electricity, and waste management in the coming year.

The announcement was made against the backdrop of a vibrant New Year celebration, where Sindh marked the occasion with a spectacular 40-minute fireworks display at the Governor’s House, setting a new world record. The dazzling display drew widespread attention and was hailed as a symbol of hope and renewal for the province.

Governor Tessori’s focus on IT education comes at a time when digital skills are increasingly seen as critical for economic growth and individual advancement. By targeting 500,000 beneficiaries, the program aims to create a substantial pool of tech-savvy individuals capable of contributing to various sectors, including information technology, entrepreneurship, and digital commerce.

The governor also called on stakeholders, including educational institutions, private sector organizations, and community leaders, to support the initiative and collaborate in creating a robust framework for its implementation. He emphasized that such efforts require a collective commitment to ensure their success and sustainability.

The initiative has garnered praise from various quarters, with experts noting its potential to address the skills gap and enhance employment prospects for young people in Sindh. Observers also view the program as a significant step toward aligning the province’s workforce with the demands of the global digital economy.

As Sindh embarks on this ambitious journey, the free IT courses for half a million youth stand as a testament to the governor’s vision of a more inclusive and prosperous future for the province. The program is expected to pave the way for economic empowerment and set a precedent for similar initiatives in other regions of Pakistan.
