The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has taken a significant step to empower women entrepreneurs by launching a nationwide competition. This initiative aims to foster innovation and creativity among aspiring women entrepreneurs.

The competition invites women to submit their innovative business ideas through a dedicated online form. The deadline for submissions is November 10, 2024. The top three winners will be recognized at a special ceremony and will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas on a larger platform.

Women of Impact Awards:

To acknowledge the achievements of established women entrepreneurs, the SBP will also present the “Women of Impact Awards” in the following categories:

  • Innovative Leader Award
  • Social Impact Award
  • Sustainability Champion Award
  • Resilience Award

Two awards will be given in each category.

Women Entrepreneurship Day will be celebrated nationwide on November 19, 2024. Events will be organized across 16 SBP BSC field offices. Banks are encouraged to host a series of events and ceremonies throughout the week leading up to November 19 to honor the achievements of women entrepreneurs.

Financial Support for Women Entrepreneurs:

To further support women entrepreneurs, banks are urged to provide maximum financing between July 1, 2024, and November 10, 2024. The top three banks with the highest financing nationwide and regionally will be recognized during the main ceremony and field office ceremonies, respectively.

This initiative by the SBP is a commendable step towards empowering women and fostering economic growth in Pakistan. By recognizing and supporting women entrepreneurs, the SBP aims to create a more inclusive and prosperous future.
