During CES 2026, Samsung unveiled a range of new televisions, monitors, and hardware, while also placing a spotlight on the mobile gaming ecosystem. The company announced a major update to its Mobile Gaming Hub on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, aiming to provide gamers with a more personalized, seamless, and engaging experience. This update marks a significant step in how Samsung approaches mobile game discovery, cloud streaming, and community building within its ecosystem.
According to Jong Woo, VP of Game Services at Samsung, the refreshed Gaming Hub will emphasize up-and-coming titles while offering faster and more personalized access to games. Mobile users can now enjoy instant plays through cloud streaming technology, which allows Android-native games to be accessed without the friction of downloading. This ensures that players can try new games immediately, creating a more dynamic and convenient experience for Galaxy users. Woo highlighted that Samsung’s mobile Gaming Hub currently attracts over 160 million users across smartphones and other devices, but he also acknowledged that mobile game discovery remains fragmented and in need of improvement.
The update consolidates all games purchased from Google Play and the Galaxy Store into a single hub, allowing users to view owned games, receive recommendations, access cloud streaming, and watch content from gaming creators. The new features are designed to emulate the curated and interactive experiences offered by PC and console platforms, while remaining tailored to the personal nature of mobile devices. “Mobile is a very personal experience,” said Woo, explaining that gaming on smartphones often feels solitary, and the refreshed hub aims to create a sense of community while guiding users to relevant content based on their preferences.
Samsung’s approach is informed by user feedback collected through beta testing and focus groups, which has helped the company understand individual gamer preferences and optimize recommendations. Beyond personalized content, the company is introducing more social features to the hub, allowing gamers and developers to connect and share experiences. Users can watch YouTube videos, highlights, and content from streamers directly within the hub, fostering interaction and engagement within the mobile gaming ecosystem. Currently, these features are exclusive to Galaxy smartphones and tablets, while other devices continue using the previous version of the Gaming Hub.
As mobile gaming continues to grow, platforms are experimenting with ways to replicate the curated, interactive environments long established on PC and consoles. Samsung’s updated Gaming Hub may serve as a model for bridging that gap, providing instant access to games, recommendations based on personal tastes, and community-oriented features.
