The world is currently going through one of the biggest challenges it has encountered since over a decade with a Covid-19 pandemic that has resulted in the people around the world isolating themselves and remaining in Quarantine for an undetermined period of time. Hence, it has become imperative that people around the world are well aware of the preemptive measures to avoid corona virus. As people around the world are still not aware of the details of the virus, it has become important to spread awareness in the best possible way. Hence, Punjab University have gone out of their way to teach people through social media on how to make hand sanitizer.

As hand sanitizers have become a rarity in Pakistan, teachers of the Punjab University are using social media to show people how they can make hand sanitizers at home. This is spearheaded by Dr Sajid Rashid of the College for Earth and Environmental Sciences, who shows users how hand sanitizers can be easily made at home in a video released by the Punjab University. In the video released by the university, this serves as another way on how universities from around the country have contributed to combact and prevent the corona virus. The importance of this can not be understated as the availability of hand sanitizers is especially necessary as the Punjab government is converting the hostels of public universities in the province into quarantine facilities.

In this video, he explains the basic composition of hand sanitizers and what ingredients are required to make it at home. It is important to note that the ingredients needed to make a sanitizer are those that are readily available around most super marts in the country. Once this video was posted, the university also distributed hand sanitizer among the traffic police wardens deputed near the university as well as among guards who have to work during the ongoing pandemic.
