Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz and Huawei Discuss Strategic Digital Cooperation

Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, affirmed the government’s commitment to utilizing modern technologies for enhancing governance, public services, and economic development in the province. During a meeting with Yu Shaoning, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Pakistan, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of creating a conducive environment for technological innovation and investment in Punjab.

The meeting focused on exploring strategic cooperation for Punjab’s digital advancement. The Chief Minister reviewed suggestions and recommendations for leveraging Huawei’s expertise in digitization, discussing potential collaborations in sectors such as Smart City initiatives and digital economy investments. Yu Shaoning expressed Huawei’s commitment to supporting Punjab’s technical initiatives, reinforcing the partnership between the provincial government and the tech giant.

The meeting was also attended by Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Additional Secretary Sara Hayat, and other relevant officials.

Additionally, Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, the first recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military honor. She lauded Captain Sarwar’s supreme sacrifice for the country’s defense, stating, “Captain Mohammad Sarwar Shaheed died defending Pakistan and became immortal in history. The nation is proud of his sacrifice, and he will always live in our hearts.”
