PTA is actively monitoring the telecom situation in flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other regions of Pakistan, where heavy rains and flash floods have caused significant disruptions to communication services. Several cellular and fixed-line sites have been damaged by the floods, leaving thousands of residents facing difficulties in staying connected during this critical period. Connectivity remains essential for rescue operations, coordination of relief efforts, and enabling affected communities to communicate with family members.

To address the situation, PTA teams have been deployed on the ground and are working in close collaboration with federal and provincial authorities, district administrations, and telecom operators. Their primary focus is to ensure the swift restoration of services in areas where infrastructure has been damaged. In Buner, PTA officials conducted detailed meetings with Honorable Minister Ameer Muqaam, Chairman of PTI Gohar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Kashif Qayum, and senior representatives from PTCL and cellular mobile operators to review progress and streamline recovery measures. These engagements reflect a coordinated approach where government institutions and private telecom players are aligning efforts to restore services as quickly as possible.

Restoring connectivity in disaster-hit regions requires a multifaceted approach, including repairing damaged equipment, ensuring availability of backup power, and mobilizing technical teams to hard-to-reach areas. Telecom operators, under the guidance of PTA, are working to bring sites back online despite challenges posed by weather conditions and accessibility issues. By maintaining constant coordination with district administrations and relief agencies, PTA is ensuring that network recovery directly supports ongoing rescue and humanitarian operations.

PTA emphasized that communication is a lifeline during emergencies, and the authority, along with all major operators, is fully committed to minimizing downtime. Service availability is considered vital not only for affected residents but also for emergency responders relying on networks to manage and deliver aid. With resources being mobilized and continuous monitoring in place, the restoration process is being treated as a national priority, underscoring the role of telecom infrastructure as a critical pillar in times of crisis.
