PTA has released data on its efforts to block illegal content on social media platforms over the past three and a half years. The data reveals varying success rates across different categories of content.

The highest blocking rate was achieved in the category of decency and morality, with 96.46 percent of processed URLs successfully blocked. On the other hand, defamatory and impersonation content saw the lowest success rate, with only 55.26 percent of URLs blocked.

Overall, PTA processed 363,111 URLs across various categories, with social media platforms blocking 84.72 percent of them.

The authority has taken a strict stance on content that violates Islamic values, with a high success rate in blocking such material. However, there is room for improvement in categories like defamation and impersonation.

CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come. CWPK is part of the SPIN/IDG Wakhan media umbrella.
