Pakistan’s Advertising Industry Oscars: A Look Back at PAS Awards 2018

Initiated in 2011, the Pakistan Advertisers Society Awards are a non-commercial initiative that honors ‘creativity, ideas and strategies that work’ i.e. recognizes the most effective pieces of marketing communications and advertising campaigns. These awards have become one of the most prestigious and recognized award programs of the marketing and advertising fraternity.

On the 14thof April, the 8th PAS Awards took place at the Expo Center in Karachi,  presented by Engro Corporation as its main sponsor. The Awards featured 15 regular categories, along with 12 special categories, and 3 special awards.

And the winners for the awards in various categories are:

  • Campaign for Good: McDonald’s Pakistan for #SaluteAllMothers
  • Best in Corporate Communication: HBL for HBLPSL 2017
  • Media Innovation: Knorr Noodles for Knorr Noodles Boriyat Busters
  • Passion for Pakistan: Bonanza Satrangi for Azadi Mera Libaas
  • Seasons Special: McDonald’s Pakistan for #SaluteAllMothers
  • Best in TV: Kenwood for DC Inverter AC
  • Best in OOH: Rekab
  • Best in Print: Dawn for The Dawn of Pakistan 1906-1948
  • Top Brand 2017: Suzuki
  • Best Nationally Originated Campaign: Coca Cola for Taking on Tea
  • Campaign of the year: Coca Cola for Taking on Tea.

Furthermore, the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Mr. Bashir A. Khan, Chairman, Manhattan Communications for his lifelong contributions and being one of the pioneers of advertising in Pakistan. A special segment of YouTube Leader Board Award was also presented that was hosted by Google.
