The world is currently going through one of the biggest challenges it has encountered since over a decade with a Covid-19 pandemic that has resulted in the people around the world isolating themselves and remaining in Quarantine for an undetermined period of time. Hence, it has become imperative that people around the world are well aware of the preemptive measures to avoid corona virus. As people around the world are still not aware of the details of the virus, it has become important to spread awareness in the best possible way. Hence, a group of Pakistani girls have launched a Coronavirus centric dashboard in 100+ languages.

These two Pakistani girls are Hafsa Usmani and Rida Shoaib who have launched a coronavirus dashboard that provides the latest updates on the pandemic from around the globe. Hafsa Usmani and Rida Shoaib co-developed the ‘Covid19 Tracker’ which offers users the option to view the information present around the world in more than 100 languages. Hafsa is a graduate of FAST-NU and Masters in Computer Science and Rida is an MBA graduate from the Lahore School of Economics. Hafsa designed and programmed the Covid19 Tracker while Rida looked after the data source research and testing. Hence, this dashboard is one that has gone through extensive work and research.

Covid19 Tracker is updated on a daily basis with data from Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center. One of reasons for the launch of Covid19 Tracker was to eradicate any false information from being spread so they launched the tracker to eradicate widespread misinformation during this pandemic, which would only otherwise result in panic. Rida stated: “Therefore, we took it upon ourselves to offer authentic updates on the number of confirmed cases and deaths due to Coronavirus globally in nearly every major language spoken around the world”.
