Pakistan’s technology ecosystem marked a remarkable achievement at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2025, held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, by securing seven prestigious awards across multiple categories. The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) led the national delegation, which comprised 55 participants representing 27 technology companies, startups, and student teams. The awards underscored the country’s growing innovation capabilities and its rising prominence in the Asia-Pacific technology landscape.

The event, attended by innovators from 16 economies, featured senior Taiwanese officials, including Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs Hou Yi-Hsiu and Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-Mai. Pakistan’s delegation, the largest ever sent to the competition, showcased projects previously recognized in the HBL P@SHA ICT Awards 2025. These entries were selected from a competitive field of 104 submissions, including 37 winners and 58 runners-up, reflecting the depth of talent and creativity within the country’s tech sector. The delegation was led by P@SHA Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed, who also serves on the APICTA Executive Committee, with guidance from judges Dr Shoab Ahmed Khan, Shahzad Shahid, Khurram Idrees, Dr Usman Akram, and coordinator Zain Tariq.

Among the highlights, GeoGemma, developed by the Institute of Space Technology, secured both the People’s Choice Award and the top prize in the Tertiary Students category, demonstrating strong innovation and user impact. KPITB’s Dastak platform achieved recognition as the winner in the Public Sector and Government category, showcasing digital governance solutions and citizen-centric technology implementation. Student teams also performed impressively, with Sense Guard from Fazaia Inter College Jinnah Camp earning first runner-up, and NUST’s Osteoscreen securing the same position in the Tertiary Students category, emphasizing the emergence of young talent in Pakistan’s technology ecosystem.

Corporate innovation was also recognized, with Dynasys Networks achieving two first runner-up positions for its ALEF solution in the Business Services and IoT categories. Unikrew Solutions completed Pakistan’s award haul by securing a runner-up accolade for its consumer app Faceoff, highlighting the growing diversity of technology offerings from the country. Sajjad Syed remarked that the results reflect Pakistan’s increasing global competitiveness in the digital sector and recognized the commitment, creativity, and talent shaping the nation’s technology-driven future. He further stated that the awards reinforce the importance of continued support for startups, student innovators, and established technology companies to maintain momentum in regional and international markets.

P@SHA expressed gratitude to the Pakistan government, HBL, judges, mentors, and partner organizations for their ongoing support, noting that these awards reflect a collaborative effort to enhance innovation, digital solutions, and regional technology representation. The delegation’s success at APICTA 2025 positions Pakistan as a hub for technology excellence in South Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific region, emphasizing both the capability and potential of the nation’s tech talent to compete at an international level. Moving forward, P@SHA affirmed its commitment to nurturing innovation, providing resources and mentorship, and expanding Pakistan’s presence in regional and global technology ecosystems, ensuring sustained recognition and growth for the country’s digital economy.
