The Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, in partnership with the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication and Ignite – National Technology Fund, has announced the launch of the Pakistan Startup Competition 2025, calling on innovators and entrepreneurs across the country to present their technology-driven climate solutions. The competition aims to identify and showcase the most promising ClimateTech, GreenTech, and AgriTech startups that are addressing sustainability challenges and driving tangible impact. Selected winners will have the opportunity to represent Pakistan at the upcoming COP30 conference in Belém, Brazil, taking place from November 10 to 21, 2025, under the global theme of Climate Action and Climate Finance.

The initiative underscores Pakistan’s growing commitment to leveraging innovation and technology to address the escalating challenges of climate change. Through the Pakistan Startup Challenge 2025, the Ministry of Climate Change seeks to empower emerging enterprises that are developing scalable, data-driven, and environmentally conscious solutions across sectors such as agriculture, energy, and waste management. This collaboration between the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication and Ignite reflects a broader national strategy to align entrepreneurship with sustainability goals and climate resilience. By enabling local startups to participate on the world stage at COP30, the initiative positions Pakistan as an active contributor to international discussions on green innovation and digital transformation in environmental policy.

Applications for the competition are open until October 18, 2025. Startups are encouraged to apply through the official online portal and present their solutions that align with the objectives of sustainable development, energy transition, and climate adaptation. The program invites entries from a diverse range of innovators working on clean energy technologies, regenerative agriculture, carbon tracking systems, circular economy initiatives, and water conservation models. The selected startups will not only gain exposure at the global climate platform but also benefit from mentorship, networking opportunities, and potential funding through Ignite’s ecosystem of National Incubation Centers across Pakistan.

This initiative reflects the continued role of Ignite and its partner institutions—such as the National Incubation Centers in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, and the specialized NIC for Aerospace Technologies—in supporting innovation that tackles national and global challenges. The Pakistan Startup Competition 2025 stands as a key milestone in fostering an innovation-driven approach to climate resilience, bringing together government, technology, and entrepreneurship to create sustainable pathways for growth. As the world looks toward COP30, Pakistan’s proactive engagement highlights its ambition to contribute meaningful solutions to the climate agenda through homegrown technology and entrepreneurial talent.
