Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan, Henrik Persson, met with Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja on Monday. The discussion centered on strengthening cooperation in the information technology (IT) and telecommunication sectors between the two countries.
Minister Khawaja emphasized the government’s focus on uplifting the IT and telecom sector, highlighting its position as a top priority. She pointed to Pakistan’s rising IT exports and expressed a desire to increase exports specifically to Sweden. Building stronger business-to-business relations between the two countries was also on the agenda.
The Minister actively encouraged Swedish tech companies to invest in Pakistan, underscoring the favorable environment for foreign investment. She elaborated on the government’s commitment to supporting and facilitating the private sector, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision.
Ambassador Persson acknowledged the vast potential within Pakistan’s IT sector. He expressed Sweden’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Pakistan in both IT and telecommunication, paving the way for a mutually beneficial partnership.
This meeting signifies a shared desire between Pakistan and Sweden to deepen their collaboration in the dynamic IT and telecom landscape. By fostering stronger ties and encouraging investment, both countries stand to benefit from advancements and growth within these crucial sectors.
