NIC Launch National Health Hackathon to #SolveForHumanity

With the country and world at large is going through an unprecedented global pandemic, the Healthcare industry has never been more important to ensure the proper solutions are created to tackle these challenges. In an effort to provide an opportunity to fight against the corona virus, NIC Pakistan have launched a competition styled hackathon to combat Covid-19.

 

NIC have launched a hackathon billed in an effort to solve for humanity. In this competition, Participants have to find preventive and curative solutions for communicable diseases.  The National Health Hackathon will allow people to collaborate and develop modern solutions to control the spread of communicable diseases like COVID-19. Looking for ideas, prototypes and solutions for related to COVID-19, they also need to be practical & scalable. They can apply in the following problem categories:

 

  1. Preventive

A1. Access To Authentic Information (Fighting Fake News)

A2. Access To Hygiene And Disinfectant Products

A3. Creating Hygienic Conditions In Cities And Homes

A4. Digital Tools For Tracking Pandemic Progression

A5. Solutions For Safe & Comfortable Lifestyle in Self-Quarantine

  1. Curative

B1. Protective Gear for Curbing the Spread of Infectious Diseases

B2. Dealing With Patient Load/ Testing For COVID-19 Patients

B3. Critical Care Management For COVID-19 Patients

B4. Fast Track Contact Tracing Of COVID-19 Patients And Community Clusters/Hot Spots

B5. Research For Vaccines/ Medicines

B6. Well-Being Of Frontline Workers And Healthcare Providers

  1. Other

C1. Virtual Education

C2. Supply Chain (Food And Other Daily Use Items)

C3. Access to Water And Sanitation Facilities

C4. Facilitating Remote Workers

 

Please note that the Last Date to Apply is 12th April 2020. NIC have collaborated with TeamUp and Jazz xlr8 in partnership with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination (M/o NHSR&C), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Rehman Medical Institute (RMI), Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North America (Open), Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), National Incubation Center Karachi (NIC Karachi), TVOne Pakistan and Association of Pakistani Physicians of Northern Europe (APPNE), to organize a solution based all-online National Health Hackathon. Other media partners include FM 91, HUM News, News One, Waseb TV, PTV Network, FM100 Pakistan, Mashable Pakistan, ProPakistani, Capital TV as well.

 

The stages of the competition are as follows:

Idea Stage – 3 months: You have a prototype ready to be tested on sample customers

MVP Stage – 2 months: You have iterated your prototype to a minimum viable product that is ready for paying customers

Solution Stage – 1 month: You have conducted a live pilot test of your MVP and improved the end to end product delivery. You’re set to pre-launch
