In a significant move to modernize public safety, Murree Police have unveiled an AI-powered Safe Tourism App aimed at improving convenience and security for visitors to the popular hill station. The application is designed to integrate modern technology with traditional policing, providing tourists with direct access to essential services through a single platform.
Murree District Police Officer Dr. Raza Tanveer described the initiative as a landmark step, highlighting its role in connecting tourists with the DPO office and relevant administrative departments. The app enables visitors to access services from police, Rescue 1122, and traffic authorities instantly, simplifying the process of seeking assistance during their stay. One of its key features is the dedicated “Virtual Women Police Station,” which provides enhanced protection and support specifically for female tourists.
The Safe Tourism App also includes an AI-powered live chatbot available 24/7 to guide and assist visitors. Additionally, the “Text to DPO” feature allows tourists to send complaints directly to the Murree DPO via WhatsApp, ensuring quick communication and response. These features are designed to make the app a comprehensive safety companion for travelers, offering real-time assistance and reducing dependency on conventional methods of reporting.
Dr. Tanveer emphasized that the Safe Tourism App represents a significant shift from conventional policing methods, positioning technology as a central tool for ensuring the well-being and safety of tourists. By providing a seamless, tech-driven system for reporting and accessing services, the initiative demonstrates how artificial intelligence and digital platforms can enhance public safety while improving the overall visitor experience in one of Pakistan’s most frequented tourist destinations.
