The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) is starting the hiring process for a new Managing Director (MD) for Pakistan Software Export Board because Osman Nasir, the former MD PSEB, has completed his tenure (PSEB). Any plea for an extension was also denied by him.
Osman Nasir’s two-year term as MD PSEB on the MP-1 scale, which was appointed by the prior administration, ended on August 13.
Osman Nasir has additionally denied claims that he intends to request a promotion to MD PSEB.
In a blog interview, he claimed that the PSEB board had extended his term due to performance; nonetheless, he turned down the offer and left the organisation.
He said that during his time as the managing director of PSEB, he worked constantly to lay the groundwork for IT exports and boost them to $2 billion.
In interactions with a blog website, representatives from the MoITT have confirmed that the MD PSEB’s term has come to an end.
The spokesperson said that the competent authorities would decide whether to provide any other Ministry representative the additional responsibilities for this role.
The hiring process will start after the MoITT publishes an advertisement for the future MD.
Imran Khan, a former prime minister, appointed Osman Nasir as MD PSEB on the advise of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, a former minister of information technology.
The Islamabad High Court is now hearing the application contesting Osman Nasir’s appointment for the previous two years (IHC).
