MeriSehat.pk has launched Pakistan’s largest multilingual health awareness portal, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at bridging the country’s massive gap in medical literacy. This free and open-to-all platform provides vital health information through videos featuring some of Pakistan’s most renowned doctors, ensuring that reliable medical advice is accessible to millions across the country.

With a national medical literacy rate of just 17.3%, over 150 million Pakistanis lack even basic health awareness. Many individuals rely on unverified sources, leading to misinformation and poor health decisions. The situation is further exacerbated by the limited availability of credible health literature, which has traditionally been produced only in Urdu or English. This language barrier significantly restricts access for millions who primarily communicate in regional languages, leaving them underserved in terms of essential healthcare knowledge.

Recognizing the urgent need for a more inclusive approach, MeriSehat.pk has addressed this issue by launching a comprehensive health awareness portal that caters to Pakistan’s diverse linguistic landscape. Each video in the platform’s growing database has been thoroughly reviewed by medical professionals to ensure accuracy before being dubbed and translated into multiple languages. In addition to Urdu and English, the platform now offers content in Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi, and even Pakistani Sign Language (PSL), making it the first of its kind to accommodate the hearing-impaired community on such a scale.

The initiative is expected to have a transformative impact on public health education in Pakistan. By removing language barriers, it will empower people from various linguistic backgrounds to access crucial medical information, understand disease prevention methods, and adopt healthier lifestyles. The inclusion of Pakistani Sign Language is a particularly significant step in making healthcare knowledge more inclusive, ensuring that the hearing-impaired population—often overlooked in public health campaigns—can benefit from expert medical guidance.

MeriSehat.pk’s multilingual approach not only enhances accessibility but also promotes cultural relevance, as people are more likely to engage with content delivered in their native tongue. This is especially important in rural and underserved areas, where misinformation about common diseases, maternal health, child care, and preventive medicine is widespread. By providing authentic medical advice in languages that people understand, this initiative has the potential to reduce health disparities and encourage proactive healthcare decisions among Pakistan’s most vulnerable populations.

The launch of this platform marks a significant step forward in improving Pakistan’s overall health awareness. In a country where access to quality healthcare remains a challenge for many, initiatives like these play a crucial role in equipping individuals with the knowledge they need to take control of their well-being. By making expert medical advice freely available in multiple languages, MeriSehat.pk is setting a new benchmark for health education in Pakistan, paving the way for a more informed and healthier society.
