Live video streaming landscape has turned out to be a very competitive one, with various social media platforms providing opportunities as well.
YouTube has recently announced that it is to start with live streaming from mobile devices from users who have more than 100,000 subscribers.
YouTube has had Live Streaming since 2011, but they are bringing it to mobile devices in the future. In their blog they wrote:
“The roll out of our new mobile live streaming feature to every creator with more than 10,000 subscribers (the rest of you will have it soon!). It’s a launch that’ll put the power of live streaming in the hands of hundreds of thousands of talented creators, giving them a more intimate and spontaneous way to share their thoughts, lives, and creativity.”
They have also launched the Super Chat feature where users can highlight their messages for a fee. According to YouTube it is like paying for a fee for the front row seats in a digital age. Therefore fans will be able to purchase chat messages that are highlighted in bright colours and stay pinned to the top of the chat window for up to five hours.
