To launch this initiative and showcase some of the beautiful work put together by artisans, the foundation held an exhibition this past weekend. Uraan by Kaarvan Crafts Foundation was held at Packages Mall on Dec 23-24. Those in attendance got to see inspiring handmade crafts exhibition by Pakistani female artisans who are part of Kaarvan and DFID – UK Department for International Development’s Women Economic Empowerment Program (WEE) in collaboration with The British Asian Trust.

Encouraging the community to come support this initiative, Kaarvan Foundation shares,

“Come receive the gifts, an expression of authenticity, self-acceptance and belonging. Become interwoven into the social fabric interlocking households.”

Shipping all across Pakistan is free. Shopping from the portal is extremely easy, all one has to do is register themselves by providing their email.

Kaarvan Foundation has been in the social entrepreneurship space. The foundation is based out of Lahore, and has been supporting communities of artisans and crafters for over 15 years. With the recent boom in e-commerce that Pakistan has been witnessing, we are extremely delighted to see how local artisans also get their due space online.
