Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, invested PKR 25.5 billion during the first half of 2025 and reported a 17.7% growth, reaffirming its commitment to expanding digital access and driving financial inclusion across the country. The company’s infrastructure investment is primarily focused on increasing 4G coverage, strengthening digital platforms, and enabling seamless access to services for millions of users.
During the second quarter of 2025, Jazz’s revenue rose by 15.3% year-on-year in local currency, driven by stable performance in telecom services and a 35.7% growth in digital revenue, which now represents 28.1% of total revenue compared to 23.9% in the same period last year. The company’s EBITDA rose 5.4%, achieving a margin of 41.6%, indicating a healthy operational structure. With a capex spend of PKR 16 billion in Q2 alone, Jazz continued to strengthen its digital infrastructure while pushing forward its transformation into a full-fledged ServiceCo.
JazzCash, the company’s digital financial service, maintained its lead in the market with over 21 million monthly active users. It processed a gross transaction value of PKR 11.7 trillion over the twelve-month period ending Q2 2025. The platform’s expansive reach includes 367,000 active merchants and nearly 107,000 active agents. On average, more than 140,000 digital loans are disbursed daily, reinforcing its role in expanding financial access.
CEO Aamir Ibrahim stated that Jazz’s performance reflects its long-term strategy of investing in connectivity and digital capability to serve the evolving needs of the country. He noted that during the first half of the year, the company prioritized expansion of its 4G footprint, scaling digital platforms, and promoting financial inclusion. The company also took key strategic steps including the Deodar tower asset transfer to Engro Connect to improve operational efficiency and focus more on digital ecosystem development.
Jazz’s subscriber base reached 73.9 million, with 4G users climbing to 54.6 million—up 15.3% from the previous year. VoLTE users totaled 32 million while daily active users on VoWiFi reached 5.22 million. The company also saw a 29.2% year-on-year growth in multiplay customers, who now make up 36.4% of the total base and contribute over three times the ARPU of voice-only users.
Jazz’s digital platforms posted strong numbers during the quarter. The Tamasha entertainment app recorded over 12 million monthly active users, with engagement peaking at 17 million during high-profile cricket events in April. The SIMOSA app, which combines SIM management, lifestyle features, and social tools, reached 21.2 million MAUs. FikrFree, Jazz’s insurtech offering, reached 9.8 million active policies alongside 2.2 million MAUs, demonstrating strong user adoption in the digital insurance space.
Operating as a ServiceCo, Jazz now serves over 100 million users across fintech, entertainment, self-care, cloud solutions, and gaming platforms. This model reflects Jazz’s shift from traditional telecom services toward enabling a broader digital ecosystem that contributes to economic uplift through technology-driven solutions.
