In a heartfelt message to its employees, Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim emphasizes the organization’s obligation to respond to Pakistan’s flood crisis and restore the lives of those affected. Jazz employees are stepping up to support flood victims, and the company has pledged to match their contributions for a greater impact in these critical times.
Pakistan is currently facing a severe natural catastrophe, with floods causing widespread devastation and impacting thousands of lives. Recent data reveals that approximately 60% of Pakistan is inundated due to heavy monsoon rains, and the situation is expected to worsen as the rains continue.
Aligned with Jazz’s mission of social empowerment, employees are determined to go the extra mile to alleviate the suffering of flood victims. CEO Aamir Ibrahim encourages employees to offer their assistance, emphasizing that every contribution, no matter how small, matters. To amplify the impact, Jazz will match the donations made by its employees.
Teams are being set up to facilitate employee donations, which will be matched by Jazz. Employees will have the option to contribute to various NGOs and the Prime Minister Flood Relief Fund. Additionally, Jazz will collaborate closely with NGOs and the government for the distribution of emergency supplies, including shelter, food items, and medical aid.
Aamir Ibrahim expresses gratitude to the frontline workers who have worked tirelessly to ensure connectivity in the affected areas. He acknowledges that connectivity is a crucial lifeline during a crisis, and commends the teams for their tremendous efforts.
It is noteworthy that Jazz recently pledged a PKR 1 billion support package for flood relief across the country. This support includes subsidized telecom and JazzCash services for impacted individuals, frontline relief workers, and donor agencies. The funds will also be used to
enhance relief efforts, providing cash support, food, first aid, ration boxes, and shelter through leading NGOs, relief organizations, and the government.
