PTA has released its latest Quality of Service (QoS) survey for Q1 2025, revealing key insights into mobile network performance across Pakistan, with a specific focus on upload speeds. Based on data collected from 15 cities, Jazz and Zong emerged as the leading network providers, leaving Ufone and Telenor far behind in this category.

Jazz led the rankings in automated upload speed tests, which simulate standard user behavior through scheduled data uploads. The results placed Jazz at the top in 10 out of 15 cities. In cities such as Chamkani, Dinga Town, Hala, and Hub, Jazz delivered consistent upload speeds between 24 to 25 Mbps, with Dinga Town recording one of the highest scores at 24.67 Mbps. Zong followed closely, securing the lead in five cities. In Dina Town and Rahim Yar Khan, Zong achieved speeds of 20.59 Mbps and 22.41 Mbps respectively, reflecting competitive performance in this mode of testing.

Telenor consistently ranked at the bottom in automated tests, posting upload speeds as low as 2.35 Mbps and not exceeding 7.70 Mbps in any city surveyed. Ufone remained fixed in third place across all test locations.

When evaluated using third-party mobile apps—intended to reflect real-world internet usage more accurately—Zong outperformed all other providers, ranking first in 8 of the 15 cities. Zong delivered particularly strong results in Kandiaro with 31.33 Mbps, Rahim Yar Khan with 30.78 Mbps, and Dina Town with 30.71 Mbps. In comparison, Jazz ranked first in 7 cities, maintaining high performance with 29.54 Mbps in Dinga Town and 27.25 Mbps in Chamkani.

Across both test formats, Ufone continued to hold third place, while Telenor remained the slowest in all locations. City-wise comparisons showed Jazz dominating in Chamkani with 24.08 Mbps versus Zong’s 11.68 Mbps. However, Zong took the lead in Kasur, Rahim Yar Khan, Kandiaro, and Hattar, achieving margins of difference significant enough to influence user experience in those regions.

The data suggests that while both Jazz and Zong provide strong upload performance across the country, their dominance varies by testing methodology and geography. Jazz leads in controlled, automated environments, while Zong edges ahead in actual user experience as captured through third-party applications.

PTA’s upload speed rankings place Jazz at the top based on Auto Mode testing and Zong at the top in third-party app assessments. Ufone maintained middle ground with no top finishes, and Telenor consistently fell short in both categories. For users in Pakistan who rely on stable and fast upload speeds—whether for content sharing, cloud usage, or live interactions—Jazz and Zong remain the primary options based on the latest QoS findings.
