A senior delegation from VEON and Jazz, led by Kaan Terzioğlu, CEO VEON Group, and Aamir Ibrahim, CEO Jazz, visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at NDMA headquarters to strengthen collaboration on disaster preparedness and risk communication. Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, and his team provided a comprehensive briefing on NEOC’s capabilities for monitoring, preparedness, and emergency response, highlighting the center’s critical role in protecting communities from climate-related and natural disasters.

The visit emphasized Jazz’s position as a key infrastructure partner in national early warning systems and emergency communications. Discussions focused on the application of technology-driven solutions, including predictive AI models, real-time alert mechanisms, and resilient communication networks designed to enhance Pakistan’s readiness against floods, heatwaves, and other natural calamities. Officials from both sides underscored the importance of leveraging digital tools to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information to vulnerable populations.

NDMA and Jazz’s ongoing partnership has already facilitated the delivery of over 300 million early warning alerts for severe weather events and natural hazards, while also extending support for relief operations during major emergencies. The delegation highlighted the value of proactive disaster management and stressed the importance of private sector engagement in strengthening resilience at both local and national levels. They also discussed ways to further integrate technology and mobile connectivity into emergency preparedness frameworks to increase efficiency and reach.

The engagement reflects a shared commitment between NDMA and Jazz–VEON to harness digital infrastructure and innovation for safeguarding lives and livelihoods. Both organizations reiterated their intention to expand collaboration on disaster risk reduction, strengthen communication networks, and promote nationwide awareness of emergency protocols. By combining digital solutions with strategic planning, the partnership aims to enhance Pakistan’s capacity to respond to growing climate and disaster challenges, ensuring communities are better equipped to manage crises and minimize damage.
