At the launch of the realme 8 Series, Express Tribune got candid with Mr Jadon Niu, the CEO of realme Pakistan and spoke to him about the company’s vision for Pakistan.

Jadon Niu has been associated with the brand for a few years, three of which he has served as the CEO of realme Pakistan. He has a wide expertise in the field of information technology and is responsible for realme’s overall business strategy in Pakistan. It’s no secret that realme is the fastest growing smartphone brand in the world; as a result, we were honoured to be given the opportunity to highlight the brand’s impact in Pakistan.

How do you define the overall enterprising philosophy of realme?

Our ideology reflects a daring mentality, as encapsulated in our slogan ‘Dare to Leap.’ We’re committed to offering more cutting-edge products and events to young people all over the world, and to being a leader in Gen-stylish Z’s lives.

This is also reflected in our product philosophy. We always take the risk of bringing cutting-edge technology to a lower price point, popularising it, and bringing it closer to the users. We swiftly achieved a breakthrough with the “Smartphone + AIoT” strategy, and we have most critically covered the three primary application scenarios of individuals, families, and travel by establishing a mature AIoT system.

We dare to be the first brand to infuse trend culture into the technology business through collaborations with brands and leaders in the music, sports, video, and e-sports industries, among others. Furthermore, according to Counterpoint’s data of worldwide smartphone shipments in Q3 2020, realme is the world’s sixth most popular smartphone brand and was recognised as one of the mainstream smartphone companies.

In 2019, realme shipped 25 million smartphones worldwide, an increase of 808 percent year over year, giving it the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand for four consecutive quarters from 2019 to Q2 2020. With a global user base of over 70 million, realme has expanded into 61 markets throughout the world, including China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Europe, Russia, Australia, the Middle East, and Africa.

With the launch of the realme 8 Series, we are bringing yet another edition of the realme number series to Pakistan.

Our number series has done exceptionally well in the United States and around the world, with more than 30 million units sold worldwide. In Pakistan, our realme 7 Series sold 592 percent more units on the first day of sales than the realme 6 Series.

So, these numbers are a testimony to the interest that people have in realme devices, and we believe that with the realme 8 Series, this interest would go even higher.

What is realme Pakistan’s vision for its consumers?

Our concept encapsulates the spirit of Pakistani youth. We title it with the slogan “Dare to Leap,” which reflects the brand’s confidence as it moves forward in the marketplace.

Counterpoint named realme the “fastest 50 million sale” last year, and Fast Company named us one of “China’s 50 Most Innovative Companies.”

It’s been a fantastic journey for us as we’ve become the design and aesthetics leaders for our products. We’re bringing our Pakistani followers along on this creative journey so that they can enjoy the cutting-edge technologies that we’ve introduced to the market.

We are the democratizers of technology, as the realme number Series suggests. In the realme 3 Pro, we included the flagship technology of 30W Dart Charge, as well as the Quad Camera in the realme 5 Series. The realme 6 Series introduced the 90Hz High Fresh Rate Display, while the realme 7 Series featured the SONY 64MP camera, which was developed in partnership with SONY.

Likewise, we have also developed a big realme Community in Pakistan, where we engage in interesting projects for our realme Fans such as the shotonrealme pakistan where people who use realme smartphones may submit their photographic content for the world to view. We’re bringing flagship technology features like a 108MP Ultra Quad Camera and 50W SuperDart Charge to the masses with the new realme 8 Series. As a result, our customers may get top-notch premium features at a price point that fits their budget.

What should the customers be expecting from the realme 8 series?

As previously stated, when the realme 8 Series hits the market, it will set a lot of trends. A 108MP Ultra Quad Camera, a 50W SuperDart Charge, a MediaTek Helio G95 gaming CPU, and a 5,000mAh battery will be included. All of these capabilities, as well as a slew of other noteworthy characteristics, are presented in keeping with our innovation-first strategy and a sharp eye on what realme customers have grown to anticipate. The G95 is the best MediaTek 4G Chipset for a smooth 4G experience on a smartphone.

Both the variants of the realme 8 Series – the realme 8 Pro and the realme 8 have something special for the youth. The realme 8 Pro is a spectacular camera smartphone while the realme 8 will entice all the gamers out there.

How do you integrate the brand to be youth-centric?

realme is a ‘youth brand’ that caters mostly to teenagers and young adults. Smartphones, we believe, not only provide a technological boost to your life, but also combine a lifestyle through their design and performance. We created the realme 8 Series with features tailored specifically for the younger generation.

We worked on the camera functions, incorporating professional camera features into a smartphone with a sleek body style to appeal to their tastes. We provide cutting-edge technologies at affordable pricing. In the tech business, we are the popularizers of pop culture, upsetting trends by setting new ones as we go.

How do you rate the design prowess of these new phones?

The realme 8 Pro and realme 8 are both created with a bold and dreamy enterprise known as the ‘Infinite Bold Design,’ which combines cool street features. This Infinite Bold Design gives the gadgets a brilliant dreamy appearance that is both elegant and appropriate for the tastes of young people.

Both phones have a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED fullscreen display, which is brighter and better at colour reproduction, has stronger contrast, and has a more lifelike display than LCD panels. It also has a light-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor that unlocks quickly and a high sensitivity touch sampling rate for improved gaming responsiveness.

What were the biggest challenges for realme in Pakistan? How do you strategise your role for 2021?

Due to Covid-19, we are living at the most difficult period in human history. It has posed enormous hurdles to people and businesses all around the world. Despite the difficulties, we are pushing forward with the launch of smartphones, AIoT products, and other smart accessories. We’re raising the bar and striving to expand our influence and effect even further. In these tough times, we are always offering something pleasant and cheery for people to cherish.

In the future, we’d like to focus on bringing 5G products to Pakistan, which would provide more chances and broaden horizons for Pakistan’s youth. We’ll continue to expand our AIoT ecosystem, resulting in the creation of a new AIoT ecosystem.
