We have turn to the time and age where everything is not anymore a click but a touch away from showing its efficiency of response and working toward benefitting us.
From times of a cave man where a flat rock was used as a sheet for any imagery or textual display to the progress of a black board, white board – to the innovation of Intel’s SMART Board, the combination of simplicity of a whiteboard with a power of a computer.
No more scribbling and hearing those painful screams of a chalk scraping against the board, piercing through our ears.

2011 marks SMART’s 25th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. These goals achieved show us the company’s consistency and dedication to innovation- an up to date invention helping the educators and business professionals a great deal. More than two million SMART Board interactive whiteboards have now been installed around the world.

This invention was the first interactive whiteboard to provide touch control of computers applications and have the advantage to write over standard Microsoft Windows application. It is connected to a LCD panel and a computer, which has brought interactive technology to classrooms, meeting rooms and board rooms. Three patents were granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in recognition of this innovation.

Not everyone knows about interactive whiteboards and in order to inform them of the benefits requires great effort. To conduct interactive lectures or talk sessions this is a smart investment that will only benefit you and an upgrade from the low-speed modems and early operating systems that were shaky, slow and offered few graphics capabilities.

There was uncertainty about the success and emergence of this innovation along with the financial point of view of crucial concern. However being determined and having a strong belief in the opportunity to introduce this innovation and the patience from the bankers helped SMART get through a lot of hurdles.

Always looking and thinking of creating a better technology, Intel continues to develop new generations of revolutionary interactive technology and remain strongly focused on creating new products to meet the customers’ needs.
Inventions like these only want to better the learning experience of the coming generations making education less of a burden and simpler. Also to develop their critical thinking skills, computer literacy, creativity and ability to collaborate – to better prepare them for tomorrow.

Students of all learning styles are better able to participate in lessons at their own pace. This helps teachers to better themselves at creating and delivering engaging lessons, assess student progress, monitor student net books and smoothen up the progress of collaboration among students.

At the core of SMART education solutions are the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, SMART Notebook collaborative learning software and the SMART Exchange website, which bridges the gap between teachers around the world to each other and to thousands of learning resources.
