Ignite National Technology Fund, operating under the Ministry of IT & Telecom, has partnered with HUM Network Limited to establish the Center of Excellence in Gaming and Animation (CEGA) in Pakistan. This new initiative has been designed to provide a dedicated platform to nurture creative talent in gaming, animation and interactive content. The formal signing ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, who highlighted the government’s ongoing support for youth empowerment, digital skills development and entrepreneurship.

CEGA aims to incubate 200 startups over a five-year period, providing structured support to entrepreneurs and businesses within Pakistan’s growing gaming and animation sectors. In addition to startup incubation, the center will offer training for 10,000 individuals to develop expertise in gaming, animation and interactive content production. These efforts are expected to significantly expand the skilled workforce in Pakistan’s creative economy and open new opportunities for participation in regional and international markets. CEGA will also provide 100 free co-working seats to help creative professionals collaborate, network and bring innovative ideas to life in a supportive environment.

With its state-of-the-art infrastructure, mentorship opportunities and exposure to global markets, CEGA seeks to act as a hub where Pakistan’s gaming and animation industry can grow and connect with international players. The program includes training sessions, workshops and collaborative spaces aimed at improving both technical skills and business acumen among participants. By focusing on both the creative and commercial aspects of gaming and animation, the initiative intends to equip Pakistan’s youth and professionals with tools needed to compete in a rapidly evolving digital entertainment landscape.

This collaboration between Ignite and HUM Network also signals a significant step in aligning public and private sector resources to stimulate innovation and create new avenues for employment. By enabling startups and skilled professionals to access modern facilities, industry mentorship and networking opportunities, CEGA positions itself as an important driver of growth in Pakistan’s creative sector. The center’s focus on incubation, training and shared workspaces reflects an integrated approach to building a pipeline of talent and enterprises capable of contributing to both the national economy and the wider global creative industry.
