ISLAMABAD – In a move aimed at enhancing public accessibility and convenience, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, announced the launch of a social media platform and a dedicated Whatsapp number for citizens to lodge complaints and grievances. This initiative empowers people to convey their concerns from the comfort of their homes, streamlining the complaint process and promoting efficient resolution of issues.

During a media briefing in Islamabad, Minister Abbasi highlighted the significance of these platforms, stating that citizens can now easily register complaints against federal ministries, divisions, corporations, and provincial departments. The government aims to encourage transparency and responsiveness through the new channels, allowing public grievances to be addressed more effectively.

Minister Abbasi revealed that since the inception of the social media platform and Whatsapp number, a total of 11,471 complaints have been received. Out of these, an impressive 11,280 complaints were resolved satisfactorily, while the remaining 191 are currently under process. The performance of these platforms will be regularly reviewed to ensure their effectiveness in catering to citizens’ needs.

To lodge a complaint, citizens can utilize the Whatsapp number: 0310-8151766, for calls or messages. This proactive approach by the government allows for timely resolution of issues and empowers citizens to actively participate in governance.

Additionally, the federal government has advised provincial governments to appoint focal persons in their respective provinces to handle and resolve complaints amicably. The government is committed to enhancing public engagement and responsiveness through its “Khuli Kachehris” (open forums) at the divisional levels. Minister Abbasi himself will be present at these forums to personally listen to and address public grievances. Following their success in provincial capitals, these forums will be expanded to divisional and district levels, ensuring a widespread and inclusive approach to resolving citizens’ concerns.
