Industry Leaders Gather at The Future Summit On Leadership In the Digital Economy

The Future Summit – Leadership in the Digital Economy was held on the 24th of October, organized by Nutshell Conferences and Corporate Pakistan Group. The event was held in collaboration with the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) under the patronage of Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair.

The sponsors and partners for the event were: PTCL, Engro, SimSim, Mitsubishi Corporation, Nafa, Sheild, Scentsation, JBS, Institute of Business Management, ACCA, SEED, Fast Cables, and Jang Media Group.

Nadeem Hussain, Founder and Coach at Planet N spoke at the event about the absence of a national digital framework. He also highlighted some great milestones from the local ecosystem including NADRA online verification, biometric records for all SIM card holders and questioned the $ 2 mm license requirement for PSO/PSP license, which kills young entrepreneurs with innovative apps. He said,

“as long as the government was dependent on funding for balancing their books, commercial banks would never be hungry or innovate.”

Adding on, he said that nano credit and acceptance of digital currency are the next big things for Fintechs.

The summit brought together prominent individuals, vibrant strategists and leading business figures who addressed the issues regarding leadership and businesses in this day and age. The speakers at the event were: Senator Mushahid Hussian Sayed, Chairman of Joint Parliamentary Committee on CPEC & Pakistan China Institute; Ayla Majid, Global Council Member , ACCA & Young Global Leader, World Economic Forum.
