Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with representatives from the Pakistan Mobile Phone Manufacturers Association (PMPMA) at the Finance Division today.

The PMPMA delegation emphasized the need for a stable and supportive policy environment to encourage local manufacturing. They urged the government to implement measures that ensure international brands support the domestic industry, thereby boosting the national economy.

The delegation also proposed strategies to promote the growth of the local mobile phone manufacturing industry and increase exports.

Senator Aurangzeb acknowledged the feedback and reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding the digital ecosystem in Pakistan. He stressed the importance of policy continuity and a robust framework for exports. The minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fostering export-led growth and creating a conducive environment for local manufacturers.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement on the necessity for a strategic and supportive policy framework. This framework aims to foster local manufacturing and enhance export potential, contributing to the broader goals of national economic growth and digital transformation.
