The Government of Pakistan, through the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control, has issued an official notification confirming the appointment of four new members to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). This decision, made under the powers granted by Section 3(3) of the NADRA Ordinance 2000, comes with immediate effect and is valid for a term of three years in accordance with Section 3(5) of the same ordinance.
According to the notification, the Federal Government has approved the appointment of Dr. Muazzam A. Khan Khattak, Mr. Muhammad Raheem Awan, Ms. Shaista Bano Gilani, and Dr. Mohammad Amir Malik as members of NADRA. The notification, issued from Islamabad on July 16, 2025, confirms that the appointments have been made with the approval of the competent authority. The move reflects an ongoing effort by the federal administration to bolster NADRA’s leadership with experienced professionals who are expected to contribute to its strategic direction and operational efficiency.
As part of the formal process, the notification has been circulated to several key offices and officials including the Secretary to the President, the Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Secretary Cabinet Division, the Secretary Establishment Division, and the Secretary Ministry of Interior. Copies were also sent to the Chief Secretaries of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan, as well as the Chairman NADRA, the Principal Information Officer at PID Islamabad, AGPR Islamabad, the Estate Office, and other officers concerned.
The notification was signed by Dr. Mudassar Rehman, Section Officer (NADRA), marking the official record of this development.
