A misquoted comment about Pakistan Post becoming Amazon’s official logistics partner was recently circulated in the media.

As a result, the Ministry of Commerce has clarified that Pakistan Post is not an official Amazon partner, and that local E-commerce companies have the freedom to choose their preferred logistical services regardless of media allegations.

Prior to this explanation, Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, had said nearly three months ago that “Pakistani entrepreneurs are eligible to sell on Amazon,” and that it was ready to collaborate with Pakistan’s business community, including small and medium-sized vendors.

From a commercial standpoint, being listed to Amazon’s official Seller’s List is a tremendous boost for Pakistani firms. While products can be dispatched and delivered by any licenced operational vendor operating locally and worldwide, Amazon has not designated a specific organisation in Pakistan for this purpose.

Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come.
