Facebook Developer Circles Community Challenge – Islamabad: Open for Entries

With a mission to give the people to build a community, Facebook is giving opportunities to developers to strive towards this goal and is inviting them to compete locally in their regions of North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, India, Sub Saharan Africa, Middle East/North Africa, and Europe. Each of the regional winners is to then continue to the next phase of the Global challenge.

The 2018 Developer Circles Community Challenge is officially in Pakistan now and the applications are open. They will be rolling out acceptances till June 24th! So apply now.

To be eligible to apply, one must use at least one Facebook developer product to build applications that will help bring communities together.  You might decide to craft an awesome Messenger experience, help community leaders strengthen and grow their audience, or integrate your own technology with Facebook’s large reach.

The challenge also offers bonus prizes for exceptional solutions that fit into the community categories that bridge online and offline experiences, build and grow community, or drive engaging communities.

Participants will have to submit a 2 minute video hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, or Youku that should include a demo of your working application in a step by step visual in English explaining how it works. One screenshot or image of the application is also required at the time of submission along with the access to your application for judging that maybe a link to the live website or demo website wherever the application is deployed.

The judging criteria consists of 40% on the quality of idea, 30% on the implementation of the idea and 30% on the potential impact it is to have on the community.

The challenge is all set to take place in Islamabad on the 1st of July 2018. The speakers at the Developers Challenge will be Adnan Majeed, Facebook Engineer Client Side Traffic and Umair Sadiq Facebook Engineer Large Scale Distributed Systems. The agenda of the 2018 Developers Circles Challenge can be found here.
