Government Assures of Transparent, Balanced and Pro-Growth 3G / 4G Auction Package

3G/4G auction are just around the corner and the government is taking serious interest in making sure the entire process takes place transparently. GoP will also make sure that suggestions of all stakeholders, especially the mobile phone operates are considered to ensure successful completion of 3G auction. 

Discussion Between PTCL and Warid fails

The ongoing discussion between PTCL, Abu Dhabi Group and Warid has been cancelled because the companies could not agree on price settlement. The decision has been taken by the shareholders of Warid Telecom since an agreement could not be reached on the desired valuation for the company. 

Grey traffic chips at LDI traffic

The telephony traffic on LDI has remarkably decreased due to Voice over Internet Protocol and grey trafficking. According to a report, “As per industry sources, international incoming call traffic of LDI operators has declined to 520 million minutes in February 2014, down 4% month-on-month and 11% year-on-year.” The report further says that LDI operators received an average 557 million minutes a month in 2013.
