Code for Pakistan is organizing its Civic Hackathon on the 7th to 9th of December 2018 at the National Incubation Center in Islamabad. The 2 day long Hackathon will see civic minded tech enthusiasts utilize their talent and creative skills in line with 5 of the selected SDG’s for better livelihood in Pakistan.

IDG Pakistan is the Outreach Partner for the Civic Hackathon. “Glad to be partnered with an organization who has global presence and strongly believes in showcasing local success stories,” Said Sidra Jalil, Director Operations at Code for Pakistan.

UNDP, World Bank, Ignite, SDPI, Planning Commission, NIC Islamabad and NIC Peshawar are also partners for the event. The objective of this hackathon is to create prototypes that address civic and social problems in line with the Sustainable Development Goals initiative of the UN.

Code for Pakistan will be inviting techies from the twin cities to work upon innovative solutions. Their event will also have two discussion panels held at the hackathon. The registrations for the Civic Hackathon are now open.

CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come. CWPK is part of the SPIN/IDG Wakhan media umbrella.
