Google Business Groups are communities of business professionals that work together to share knowledge about Google web technologies for business success. These are independent, community-led groups formed by passionate individuals, who work on putting events together that are free and open to business professionals, with an interest to learn and become more successful in using the internet for their business.

GBG Peshawar, spearheaded by Maryam Arshad, is organizing a ‘Women in Tech’ event, celebrating not just women in technology, but the impact and opportunities technology has brought to our lives today.

Along with interactive sessions with community members, this 3-hour event will also be putting up a panel discussion with a great diversity of speakers including:

  • Maria Umar: Founder Women’s Digital League from Lahore
  • Aqsa Tariq: Editorial Head at IDG (Pakistan) from Karachi
  • Neelam Azmat: Program Manager at Base Camp from Peshawar

GBG Peshawar Community Lead, Maryam Arshad, will moderate the panel.

Event partners for GBG Peshawar’s Women in Tech include Women’s Digital League, Base Camp Peshawar, PC World Pakistan from IDG, Digital Youth Summit 2017,vYoung Women Writers Forum and Tech Ease Solutions.

about
CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come. CWPK is part of the SPIN/IDG Wakhan media umbrella.
