Residents across Punjab now have the option to record key civil events at their respective Union Councils and receive related certificates through NADRA’s Pak ID mobile application, allowing them to complete documentation without needing to visit government offices. The development follows a new agreement between the Punjab Department of Local Government and the National Database and Registration Authority, aimed at improving accessibility to public services through digital channels. The initiative enables citizens to register births, deaths, marriages, and other significant life events with their local Union Councils, while the official certificates linked to these records can be accessed digitally through the Pak ID app. The partnership was formally signed by Punjab Local Government Secretary Mian Shakeel Ahmed and NADRA Lahore Regional DG Fizza Shahid, marking a step toward streamlining public documentation services across the province. The initiative provides residents with a more convenient process, reducing travel and wait times and expanding the scope of services available through mobile platforms.
The integration of Union Council records with the Pak ID application reflects a broader effort to encourage the use of digital services for routine documentation. Citizens who register events through their local Union Councils will be able to view and retrieve the corresponding certificates directly from the app once the paperwork has been completed. The move aims to support individuals who may face challenges accessing physical offices due to distance, limited mobility, or work commitments. It also emphasizes the role of technology in improving the accuracy and accessibility of vital records. The initiative is expected to benefit a large population across Punjab, where documentation related to births, marriages, and deaths is often required for education, employment, inheritance cases, and other official procedures. The collaboration between the provincial administration and NADRA signals continued efforts to expand digital options for public services and reduce reliance on manual processes.
In a separate update, NADRA confirmed revised working hours for its centres across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the 2025 winter season. The updated schedule took effect on November 19. According to the notification, regional and zonal offices operating on a five day week will function from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, while registration centres on a five day schedule will observe a single shift from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The change is intended to adjust operations in line with seasonal requirements and ensure that services remain accessible to citizens during winter months. The authority advised residents to take note of the updated timings while planning visits to NADRA facilities across the province.
NADRA has also issued a reminder to parents regarding timely updates of their children’s B Forms. The authority stated that once a child reaches three years of age, the previously issued B Form becomes invalid and needs to be replaced with a photo B Form, which is required for school admissions and other official purposes. Parents can complete the application by visiting a nearby NADRA centre with their child or through the Pak ID mobile app, which offers the convenience of completing the process from home. The reminder highlights the importance of maintaining current documentation to avoid delays in educational or administrative requirements. The availability of the Pak ID platform for this service provides an additional option for families seeking a more manageable process.
