Students from the Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (FCIT) at DHA Suffa University are representing DSU at the “GIKI Full-Stack AI Bootcamp: From ML to LLMs & Beyond,” a five-week residential program being held at the GIK Institute from July 28 to August 29, 2025. This highly competitive program drew more than 850 applicants from across Pakistan, out of which only 68 participants were selected. The initiative provides a rigorous 192-hour training that takes participants deep into the full spectrum of artificial intelligence, ranging from machine learning and deep learning to transformers, MLOps, diffusion models, and generative AI.
The DSU students are being immersed in practical learning environments where they are working directly with advanced AI tools and models, including GPT, BERT, Whisper, Gemini, CLIP, BLIP, and Flamingo. This hands-on approach allows participants to gain real-world experience in deploying and experimenting with the latest AI systems under the guidance of leading AI experts and practitioners. The bootcamp is not only advancing their technical expertise but also exposing them to collaborative problem-solving exercises, team-based projects, and mentorship that strengthens their ability to innovate in the field of artificial intelligence.
Organizers have highlighted the importance of this initiative in nurturing the next generation of AI talent in Pakistan. With AI expected to play a transformative role in industries such as healthcare, finance, agriculture, and education, programs like the GIKI Full-Stack AI Bootcamp provide essential training opportunities that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry-ready skills. By curating a curriculum that includes emerging areas such as diffusion models and generative AI, the program ensures that participants remain at the cutting edge of technological advancements. DSU’s active representation at this national platform reflects the university’s commitment to equipping its students with the skills required to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s digital economy.
The participation of DSU’s students in such a selective and intensive program underscores the university’s growing footprint in technology and innovation. Their involvement not only brings pride to the institution but also strengthens Pakistan’s broader efforts to build a strong AI talent pipeline capable of addressing local challenges with globally relevant solutions. With national recognition at stake, these students are demonstrating that Pakistan’s youth have the potential to make impactful contributions to the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem.
