The three major problems that one comes across while shopping online internationally are that no one actually ships to Pakistan, payment processes in the country are not up to standards and the customer is solely responsible for clearing customs.

Therefore in order to make international online shopping easier, Nazdeeq is a startup that enables cross border ecommerce. Nazdeeq was launched seven months ago, and it gives its customers a very seamless shopping experience on Amazon by taking care of the above mentioned three problems.

Speaking to IDG Pakistan is Madiha Nasrullah, Founder of Nazdeeq,

“Nazdeeq has three customer segments, the first one is buying from Nazdeeq as what they get from us is cheaper than what is available in the local market, especially high end gadgets. The second segment is that who is willing to pay more premium for variety as they don’t see that variety here and third is that who are willing to pay for authenticity especially in vitamins or beauty products.”

The revenue stream for Nazdeeq according to Madiha is that they charge 10% for the product. Despite many challenges faced by Nazdeeq, the most rewarding day according to her is when they receive a positive review on Facebook by a customer.

Speaking about what leadership means to her and her company, she said

“Leadership is all about nurturing, it is all about getting people who are honest and then you just build them up.”

Speaking about being incubated at Plan9, she said

“When we started out, there is usually dearth of information. We didn’t know how to incorporate a company and there is not much information available online but it helped when we got incubated here. They have a good system, and good lawyers on board as well as accountants. That helped us a lot.”
