JazzCash, Pakistan’s largest fintech services provider, and Mobilink Bank, the country’s leading digital microfinance bank, have been named finalists at the prestigious Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards 2025. The winners will be announced during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, one of the most significant global gatherings in the mobile and digital industries.

JazzCash has secured its nomination in the ‘Best Fintech Innovation’ category for its groundbreaking Tap Pay for Business service. This feature allows merchants and businesses to accept payments from contactless cards or smartphones simply by tapping on an NFC-enabled Android device. As the first-of-its-kind innovation globally, Tap Pay for Business has revolutionized digital payments in Pakistan, benefiting over 360,000 merchants. Additionally, JazzCash’s digital partnership with Mastercard enables its wallet users to make seamless digital transactions via contactless devices, further enhancing financial accessibility.

Meanwhile, Mobilink Bank’s impactful ‘Invisible Heirs’ campaign has been recognized in the ‘CMO Marketing Campaign’ category. This initiative highlights the struggles faced by women in understanding, claiming, and securing their rightful inheritance. Mobilink Bank has integrated Pakistan’s first-ever inheritance calculator into its app, empowering women with the necessary legal and financial tools to assert their rights. The campaign has sparked national conversations about financial inclusion, making it a strong contender for global recognition.

Murtaza Ali, President of JazzCash, expressed his excitement about the nomination, stating, “We are committed to developing products that cater to Pakistan’s evolving financial landscape. Tap Pay is not just an innovation; it’s a step toward a more inclusive, cashless society. This recognition reinforces our vision to lead the digital payments revolution and contribute to a documented economy.”

Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO of Mobilink Bank, emphasized the campaign’s broader impact, saying, “‘Invisible Heirs’ is more than just an awareness initiative—it challenges societal norms and advocates for women’s financial independence. We are honored by this recognition and hope it will inspire further action toward a more equitable financial system.”

This is not the first time these organizations have received international acclaim. In 2024, Mobilink Bank won the “Digital Nations Video Creativity Award” at GSMA’s M360 Asia-Pacific event for the same campaign. JazzCash has also been at the forefront of fintech innovation, winning the ‘Pioneering Telco to Launch Tap on Phone’ award by Mastercard at Edge 2024 in Dubai. Additionally, in 2017, JazzCash was awarded GSMA’s Glomo Award for the ‘Best Mobile Product, Application, or Service for Women in Emerging Markets,’ further cementing its role in financial inclusion.

Both JazzCash and Mobilink Bank operate under the umbrella of VEON, a global digital operator serving nearly 160 million customers across six key markets. Their continued recognition at prestigious platforms like GLOMO highlights Pakistan’s growing influence in the global fintech and financial inclusion sectors.
