The Punjab government is taking a significant step towards modernizing its tax system by integrating its Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (e-IMS) with the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) Point of Sale (POS) system. The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) is spearheading this initiative, which is expected to be implemented in phases. The first phase will see the integration of e-IMS with the POS system for restaurants by the end of December 2024. Subsequently, the integration will be extended to other sectors by February 2025.
